Students at Brooke Weston are celebrating the best-ever A Level results. Lorna Leandro was our top performing student gaining 4A*s and an A grade. She is planning to study medicine, either at Cambridge on in the United States.

Ciaran King was awarded As in and will study law at the University of Sussex. He got his grades in English Literature, Geography and History. He said: ‘It is quite a diverse course and I have learned a lot of skills that I can apply to the subject. I wanted to go to Sussex because it is very close to Brighton which is an amazing place and it is also a really good University. I am really happy.’
Dominick Dolecki achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths as well as a B and is going to study Dentistry at Kings College, London: ‘I have always wanted to study dentistry. The course will be five years. I am happy to have got my place.’
Stephanie Cross is planning to train as a primary school teacher after gaining four OCR Distinctions (each equivalent to A grades) in Health and Social Care, Travel and Tourism, ICT and double ICT. She said: ‘When I was in nursery school one of my teachers said I would make a good teacher because I like to boss people about and it has stuck with me ever since! I do a placement for one day a week at KSA primary school and I have really got into it. I am very pleased with my results, particularly the one in Health and Social Care.’
Maria Mandic got two As in Biology, English and a B in Chemistry. She is now going to study Biochemistry at University College London. ‘I am really interested in Biology and Chemistry and when I looked up the course and went to lots of open days I found it was really interesting. I want to then go on and do a Masters and PhD.’
Niamh Bailey is going to study footwear design at de Montfort University in Leicester. ‘I always knew I wanted to do design and I like shoes so I thought I would combine the two!’ Niamh got A grades in 3D Art and Design, Design Technology, Distinction * in BTEC sport and a B in English Literature.
