Two local artists ran specialist workshops at Brooke Weston Academy allowing students to explore lino printing and abstract art.
Art teachers, who are also passionate about ceramics, have met up to share ideas and strategies about introducing the media more widely to students in two of our Trust schools. Charlotte Asprey from Brooke Weston Academy and Thomas Clarkson Academy’s Head of Art, Sarah Loosemore, first met at a Trust subject training day. They share a love of pottery, so Charlotte visited Sarah to see how the subject is taught at her school and share ideas.
Some of our Sixth Form photography work is currently on display at the Market Harborough Building Society in Corby town centre.
Year 8 students at Brooke Weston Academy are making striking geometric masks, inspired by the artwork of Kimmy Cantrell.
The first very successful term of BRIT Kids Saturday classes will be rounded off with a celebration event on Saturday 15th December, to which prospective students and their parents are invited.

Congratulations to students in Years 11, 12 and 13 who were amongst four local schools invited to take part in the Royal Academy of Arts exhibition at Kettering Museum and Art Gallery.
A group of Year 8 students from Brooke Weston were invited to Beanfield Primary where children’s author and illustrator Jim Smith spoke to them about writing and illustrating books.
Students in Year 7 have enjoyed spending time working on a community art project with two local artists creating woodland creatures from wire sculptures that will be used in the ‘Our Woods’ display in Corby on the 5th - 7th May.
Congratulations to Eliza Donnelly, Eliza Markova and Siobhan McGrady in Years 7 and 8 whose book covers’ all won first prize in the ‘Design a Book Cover’ competition.
