BWA Recruits New Student Library Helpers
Congratulations to our students in Years 7, 8 and 9 who have been successful in their application to join the Library team. A total of ten students have been recruited to help in the Library after a rigorous process which involved submitting an application form and taking part in an interview.
Librarian Wendy McCabe said: Being a student library helper is a great way for the students to provide valuable input into the development of the Library while getting some practical experience in a real working environment. There will be a full training programme which will cover the basics, such as learning how to shelve books correctly, including how the Dewey Decimal system works. They will then progress through various levels of skills, achieving Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum award levels. I am grateful to all the volunteers and their help is invaluable in making sure that the Library runs smoothly and at the same time helping raise the profile of the Library among their peers.’
The successful candidates are:
Year 7: Leon, Ameera, Jesse, Emily, Ethan, Angel, Sitha and Lacey
Year 8: Holden
Year9: George
