A celebration of curiosity, creativity and community at BWA during Enrichment Week
Brooke Weston Academy proudly launched its very first Enrichment Week, a vibrant and inspiring initiative designed to broaden horizons, ignite passions, and build lasting memories. From hands-on science experiments to outdoor adventures, students across all year groups embraced the opportunity to step beyond the traditional classroom and dive into a world of discovery.
Throughout the week, students demonstrated remarkable resilience, enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new. The diverse programme offered something for everyone, including:
- Gardening Design and Sustainability
- Rock Band
- STEM Engineering
- Food Science
- Northampton Town Football Camp
- Performance, Media and Theatre
- Historical Northamptonshire
- The Great Outdoors
- STEM Science and Space
- Year 10 Careers and Work Shadowing
- Year 12 Enrichment
- Stem Forensic Science
- Bushcraft Adventure
- Fitness Sport and Team Building
- Year 8 London Residential
Each activity was carefully curated to encourage students to explore new interests, develop practical skills, and connect with peers and staff in meaningful ways.
Miss Colquhoun, Enrichment Lead, said, ‘In addition to learning new skills, the Enrichment activities offered our students the chance to create memories to cherish, forge new friendships and embrace different learning experiences. Not only has it been a valuable opportunity for staff to see students outside their subject and witness their creativity, resilience and enthusiasm beyond the classroom, but also an opportunity for students to connect with staff's passion and energy for getting fully stuck in. We would like to thank parents/carers for supporting BWA by providing your child with these enriching opportunities.’

As the first of many to come, Enrichment Week 2025 has set a high standard for future years—proving that learning can be just as powerful outside the classroom as it is within.
