Kickboxing Success

Year 10 student on top form as he is crowned National Champion

The ambition and perseverance of Year 10 student Harlee Hooker has seen him achieve remarkable success in recent kickboxing competitions after being unbeaten in points fighting in four separate competitions.

Harlee attended the Sports Karate Alliance Interclub League in Peterborough, where he competed with Hick Martial Arts and Adrenaline Martial Arts, taking home the Gold in his points category.

Continuing his winning streak, Harlee’s dedication earned him another Gold when he attended the Peterborough Championship series and won all four fights in his point category. In the continuous category, a discipline he is less keen on, Harlee fought hard, reaching the final and securing a well-deserved silver medal in a closely fought match.

Harlee’s ambition took him to the highly competitive WKKC English Championships at the Doncaster Dome, where he claimed an incredible gold medal and was crowned National Champion after winning all four of his kickboxing fights in his points category. He also displayed impressive movement on the mat during the continuous category, earning him a bronze medal.

Most recently, Harlee travelled to Gloucester for the ISKA English Championships, bringing home a double Gold, making him a double ISKA English Champion.

Harlee’s success has qualified him to represent England at the ISKA AMA World Championships in Brisbane, Australia, and the WKKC World Championship in Niagra Falls later this year. Unfortunately, due to funding constraints, Harlee will not be able to attend these prestigious events unless sufficient sponsorship can be found.

As well as kick boxing, Harlee is also a keen runner and recently ran an impressive 18-minute 13-second 5km in the Kettering Parkrun, placing 2nd.

Well done Harlee, your achievements are a testament to the power of ambition and the importance of engaging in activities that inspire and challenge us.
