Warhammer Elective Painting Competition: Students showcase artistic talents

Students taking part in the Warhammer elective at Brooke Weston Academy recently had the chance to showcase their artistic talents in the Warhammer Elective Painting Competition. This event was not just about painting models; it was about engaging students in a creative process that enhances their attention to detail and storytelling abilities. The competition featured two main categories: Stormcast and Space Marine.

In the Stormcast category, Mikko Lubkowski (8S) earned silver for his well-executed and carefully weathered model. The winner was Elliot Kennedy (9N), whose entry impressed judges with its dynamic pose and expert painting techniques.

The Space Marine category saw Ellis Palmer-Shah (10S) receive silver for his striking model, praised for its vibrant colour work and fine detailing. Elliot Kennedy (9N) secured first place once again, achieving a double win for his outstanding artistry and consistency.

A special award for Most Creative Entry went to Filip Zielinski (8N), whose imaginative design and unique painting style stood out across all categories. Filip's entry captured attention for its originality and artistic flair, demonstrating the diverse talents of our students.

Maths teacher Ms Du Buisson, who runs the elective, said, ‘Congratulations to Mikko, Ellis, Filip, and double winner Elliot on their achievements. All participants demonstrated impressive dedication and talent, and we look forward to seeing everyone’s next painting entries!’

Well done to all our students who took part. This competition not only highlighted the students' artistic skills but also fostered a sense of community and shared passion for the Warhammer hobby, embodying the school's ethos of providing more than an education.
