  • Sixth Form open evening

    Brooke Weston is hosting its Sixth Form open evening on Thursday 9th February from 18:00-20:00 for new and existing students.

    Experts will be offering advice on subjects including the entry requirements for courses, what A levels are required for different degrees, routes into apprenticeships, opportunities over the summer and advice on timetabling. There will also be tours of the school and a presentation from the Associate Principal, Mr Peter Kirkbride and Head of Sixth Form Mrs Nina Smith.

  • Sixth Formers go in ‘pursuit of knowledge’

    A group of Year 12 and 13 students travelled to Worksop College for a two day philosophy conference.

    The event, ‘in the pursuit of knowledge’ was a mixture of exciting interactive workshops and innovative seminars and lectures where ideas were challenged and explored.

    Year 12 student Advone Katesande said ‘I really enjoyed this experience. It’s not something you can learn in a classroom. It was interactive and it challenged you to engage. I learnt a lot more as you can interpret the information into your own words which gives you more of an open mind.’

  • BW Prizegiving 2016

    Intrepid explorer and adventurer George Bullard was the guest of honour at our 2016 Prizegiving where he spoke about his latest adventure, kayaking thousands of miles from Greenland to Scotland.

    He and fellow explorer Ollie Hicks paddled 1500 miles from Greenland and ended up 66 days later (and just a fortnight ago) on the beach at Balnakiel Bay on the north of Scotland. They travelled via Iceland and the Faroes and navigated the dreaded Devil’s Dancefloor before becoming marooned on North Rona for a week, surviving on rainwater and wildlife including limpets and sea birds.
