  • Profile of our Head Boy and Head Girl

    Kelsey Fordyce and Sam Tran have recently been appointed as Brooke Weston’s first ever Head Boy and Girl. Head of Sixth Form Mrs Smith asked for written applications and the top candidates were interviewed with Sam and Kelsey being awarded the prestigious roles.

    Kelsey joined Brooke Weston in Year 12. She had previously attended CBA but liked the look of Brooke Weston during a tour.

  • Charity day raises more than £1400

    Brooke Weston Academy staff and students took part in a non-uniform day and raised more than £1400 for the charity CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young.

    A group of Sixth Formers spoke at both of the day’s assemblies about the work of the charity that supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by sudden death.

  • Students enjoyed action-packed Borneo trip

    Taking part in a jungle camp and learning to dive were just a couple of the highlights of this year’s expedition to Borneo. A handful of intrepid students made the month-long trip which had been two year’s in the planning.

    They learned junglecraft skills then climbed Mount Kinabalu, which was an 8km trek to the summit. They also constructed a wire mesh fence as part of their community project before learning how to scuba dive in the TAR islands, gaining their PADI Open Water certificates.

  • Student has the chop for charity

    Year 7 student Taya Powell has chopped her long hair off to donate for wigs for children with cancer and she has raised £500 for charity in the process.
