Well done to Brooke Weston Academy’s Year 7 boys football team who have been working hard and showing continuous grit and determination in their first ever tournament.
Brooke Weston student Lucy Haynes has won a national competition dancing the Rumba. Lucy danced at the iconic Winter Gardens in Blackpool, competing against 42 others in her age category.
Congratulation to BWA Sixth Formers, Stuart Bryce and Matthew McCormick, who both completed the Great North Run raising hundreds of pounds for charity. It was the first time that they had taken part in an official marathon as they had to wait until they were 17 to compete.
More than 50 students saw butchery skills in preparation for their Year 9 food and nutrition course. James Edwards from Stilton Catering Butchers jointed chickens and showed them ways of producing burgers, to prepare them for a gourmet burger competition where they have to formulate their own flavourings.

Year 7 students have been taking part in a sponsored Readathon raising more than £130 that will go towards providing books and storyteller visits to sick children in hospitals.

Students from Brooke Weston Academy, who took part in the shadowing event on Friday have just finished watching the live streaming of the Carnegie / Greenaway Awards Ceremony which was held at the British Library in London and hosted by TV presenter June Sarpong.
Around 70 students from Trust and local schools took part in the shadowing event at Brooke Weston Academy, voting for their favourite books in this year’s Carnegie and Greenaway Awards.
