Congratulations to the Brooke Weston senior netball team who played in the District Championship at Bishop Stopford School to defend their title as District Champions and succeeded in winning the title again.
Well done to our Year 10 rugby team who succeeded in winning their first away match of the season at Lodge Park Academy 34-15.
Two Year 10 netball teams attended a tournament at Condover Hall in Shropshire where they fought hard to claim third place in the weekend tournament.
A group of eight Year 11 girls attended the National Finals of the School Games at Loughborough University where they volunteered across a variety of different sports including hockey, volleyball and wheelchair tennis.
The Year 9 sports leaders facilitated the Primary Schools Town Sports Athletics Championships at Corby Triangle where they were responsible for running the track timekeeping, ordering the lanes and the overall scores.

Hania Mazur was named Brooke Weston Trust Leader of the Year in KS3, Sophia Shorrock was named SportsLeader of the Year in KS4, Annabel Thompson was named Sportswoman of the Year in KS3 and the Year 11 Futsal team was named as BWT Team of the Year for KS4. We also won Sports Festival for Year 7 and 9, U-14 Rugby and U-14 Cricket.
The Year 10 and 12 girls netball team were invited to take part in a two day tournament at Condover Hall in Shropshire where the Year 12 team succeeded in winning the entire tournament.
Games lasted for 20 minutes, 10 minutes each way with a quick one minute turn around in between. Both teams only had seven players which meant they had no substitutes and played in the same league as each other due to other teams pulling out of the competition prior to the weekend.
Year 7 girls have been working towards their Brooke Weston Leadership Level 1 Award during their PE lessons and have all been successful in completing the course.
The Leadership unit takes place over a three week period and is designed to help the girls understand sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play so that they can make friends with students they don’t normally work with. It also allows students who are not as physical to demonstrate their qualities in leadership.
Around 250 students took part in the latest Year 9 sports festival held at Brooke Weston Academy. Up to 50 students from each Trust secondary school joined in dodgeball, handball or orienteering.
Brooke Weston Year 9 girls netball team took part in the District Netball Tournament at Latimer Performing Arts College where they came third in their pool, just missing out on the semi-finals.
Students from Years 9-13 were invited to apply to become part of the County Young Coach Academy (CYCA) set up by Northamptonshire Sport, in partnership with Manor School and Youth Sport Trust.
The year 7 girls netball team took part in the district netball tournament at Bishop Stopford where they missed out on the semi finals by only two points.
