Year 9 Work Shadowing Day

Year 9 gain a real-life insight into the world of work

Some of our Year 9 students took part in a ‘Work Shadowing Day’ to give them an opportunity to gain a real-life insight into the world of work. Students who took part were able to attend the work place with a parent/guardian, relation or family friend for the day and get hands-on experience of the world of work away from the classroom.

Some students, who were unable to attend an off-site ‘work shadowing’ opportunity, took part in ‘shadowing’ non-teaching staff within the academy in a variety of roles which included Librarian; Receptionist; PA Assistant; HR Assistant; Exams Officer and Catering assistant.

Assistant Principal Jonathan Browne said, ‘Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to support the work shadowing day you were all amazing and very inspirational.’
