Thames Path 50km Challenge

Science teacher completes the Thames Path 50km challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support

Congratulations to Science teacher Josh Pape, who recently completed the gruelling 50km Thames Path Challenge in a bid to help raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Josh said, ‘I completed the challenge alongside my wife Kirsty, after a close friend of ours was diagnosed with cancer and we both wanted to do our bit to fundraise for the wonderful people at Macmillan Cancer Support.

It took us 12 hours 55 minutes to travel from Runneymede, Staines to Henley on Thames in Oxfordshire. The route took us through Eton, Windsor and Marlow and wow did I underestimate it! It did not go entirely smoothly, the medics would not allow me to leave the last rest stop until I stopped nearly fainting; apparently eating enough salt is a thing, who knew!

Thank you to everyone for their generous support so far, any further donations would be hugely appreciated to help me smash my fundraising target of £400.’
