Success for our Year 13 students as they impress during mock interviews
Year 13 students at Brooke Weston Academy had invaluable preparation for university and working life as a team of professionals held mock interviews and gave constructive feedback on their performance. It gave students the opportunity for real life experience in a formal setting, so that they will be better prepared in the future with an understanding of how to present themselves and possible questions they may face.
Employer volunteers from a variety of professions were sent capture sheets completed by our students to give them an idea of their career aspirations as well as some interesting facts about them, all of which helped the interviewer to prepare questions that would be relevant to the students’ needs. Each student had 30 minutes with their interviewer, which included the interview and a chance to get some constructive feedback.
Careers Lead Amber Colquhoun said, ‘The mock interviews not only provided our Year 13 students with a taste of the real-world interview process but also served as a platform for them to showcase their skills and potential. Witnessing the exchange of insights and the genuine interest our volunteers took in guiding the next generation was truly inspiring.
This enriching experience would not have been possible without the invaluable support of our dedicated employer volunteers. As we continue to bridge the gap between education and the workforce, let us celebrate the power of collaboration and mentorship. Together, we are laying the foundation for a future generation that is not only academically proficient but also equipped with the essential skills for success.
Once again, thank you to our employer volunteers—you are the driving force behind the success of our Year 13 mock interviews. Your dedication to shaping bright futures does not go unnoticed!’
