Brooke Weston Academy Holds Careers Fair

Brooke Weston Academy's recent careers fair was a huge success, attracting hundreds of students from all year groups, providing them with an opportunity to find out more about careers and education opportunities.

The event was organised by Assistant Principal-RSL Year 7 and Careers, Jonathan Browne, and exhibitors included 25 Higher/Further Education providers as well as local businesses and the armed forces, who were all eager to meet our students and their families to discuss future pathways, which included apprenticeships, T-Levels, University courses, and careers.

He said, ‘It was a great opportunity to host this live event again after a two year absence due to the pandemic. Local and multinational companies, Universities, Further Education providers, plus the NHS and Armed Forces rallied together to put on this event for our students. In addition to our Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students attending the event, it was also a great opportunity to introduce our Year 7 students to their first ever careers fair and discuss with potential employers about their future pathways. Far from just being an isolated one off event, Brooke Weston Careers are establishing long term relationships with local business to support and assist our students throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who supported and exhibited at the event’

Some of the comments from the exhibitors included:

‘Our students asked great questions’

‘First time to Brooke Weston, but will definitely come again’
