Students find out about Italian culture during a special elective session
Students who have been taking part in the Italian Language and Culture elective were treated to a virtual visit from Mr Andrea Leone who answered their questions about Italian life and culture. Mr Leone is an Italian linguist who lived in Italy for over 30 years and currently works in a secondary school near Barcelona in Spain where he teaches English and the Italian language.
Teaching Assistant Anikó Toth, who organised the virtual visit said, ‘This term we have been finding out about cities and islands in Italy and looking at food and fashion as well as looking at vocabulary students would find useful during a visit to Italy. I am half-Italian and lived in Milan for five years. I thought it would be a good idea to speak and listen to someone who had lived in Italy for a long time and could talk about life and culture in Italy. The students prepared some interesting questions to ask Andrea about Italy and his life and I would like to thank him for agreeing to give up his time to speak to our students.’
