  • Volleyball England Leadership Academy

    Schools across the county were invited to nominate students in Years 9 and 10 for the Volleyball England Leadership Academy course, which allows students to develop their knowledge of the sport and gives them the opportunity to volunteer at Volleyball England events across the country.

  • Brooke Weston Rowing teams qualify for the Winter Games

    Mixed teams of Years 7/8 and 9/10 attended the Rowing school games competition at Lodge Park where they succeeded in qualifying to represent the county for Rowing at the Winter Games in February.

  • Year 7 and 8 athletics team celebrate their second win at the Sportshall athletics

    Brooke Weston’s athletic teams are celebrating after finishing top in the first two rounds of the Sportshall athletics competition where the winners of the league will qualify to compete in the Winter Games in February.

    The league competition is part of the Corby, Oundle and Thrapston school games and was held at Lodge Park school in Corby. After already winning both the boys and girls competition in round one, the pressure was on to succeed in the second round.

  • Year 7 Trust sports festival

    Year 7 students are celebrating after winning the first Trust sports event in Dodgeball, Endball and Boccia hosted by Corby Business Academy.

    More than 35 students from each of the five Trust schools; CBA, Kettering Science Academy, Corby Technical School and Brooke Weston participated in the tournament where Brooke Weston came first in Dodgeball, second in Endball and fourth in Boccia, which due to last minute changes was a sport that the team had never played before, making them the overall winners and receiving the games trophy.

  • Year 7 basketball success

    Our Year 7 girls’ basketball team is celebrating after winning all their games in a recent tournament and qualifying for the next round representing Corby district.

    The team faced opposition from six other local schools at the Partnership Festival basketball qualifier at Corby Technical School. Brooke Weston won every game and the final, against Corby Business Academy, was extremely tense as our girls finally won the match by just one basket.

  • Diamond D of E success

    In celebration of the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme’s Diamond Anniversary DT technician Mr Darren Hooper has recently completed a 12 hour mountain bike race plus a separate cycling expedition up Mount Snowdon to raise funds for local D of E projects.

    Mr Hooper completed the gruelling 12 hours of mountain biking around Minley Manor in Reading, only stopping for one or two minutes every lap, and later went on to bike to the top of Mount Snowdon, raising £150. He said ‘I didn’t get the chance to do D of E when I was at school. So when I heard about the Diamond D of E challenge I knew it was something I wanted to do. I love challenging myself and pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone.
