BWA students win each category in Sportshall Athletics competition

Well done to our Year 7 and 8 teams who came first in each of the age categories in the recent Sportshall Challenge.

Our teams went head to head with their counterparts from Corby Business Academy ,Corby Technical School, Lodge Park Academy and Prince William School for the event, which was organised by the Oundle and Thrapston School Sports Partnership.

Chris Long, the School Sports Manager said: ‘The COTSSP sportshall athletics competition has been running since the inception of the School Games in 2011, although indoor athletics has been contested in the district for 15 years. The top two teams from each event category qualify on to the County School Games championships in March, and any pupils meeting qualification times in that event will be invited to regional and/or national level competition.’

Head of PE Jodie Barber said: ‘Congratulations to our very strong teams who swept the board in all these events. Their success clearly demonstrates their athleticism, determination and teamwork. We are now looking forward to the next round of the championships where they will compete with other winning teams from across the county.’
