  • Profile of our Head Boy and Head Girl

    Kelsey Fordyce and Sam Tran have recently been appointed as Brooke Weston’s first ever Head Boy and Girl. Head of Sixth Form Mrs Smith asked for written applications and the top candidates were interviewed with Sam and Kelsey being awarded the prestigious roles.

    Kelsey joined Brooke Weston in Year 12. She had previously attended CBA but liked the look of Brooke Weston during a tour.

  • Students receive certificates for Reading Leaders scheme

    Brooke Weston Sixth Formers who were specially trained to mentor younger students with their reading have been presented with accreditation certificates in recognition of their work. The students underwent a Reading Matters training course and completed a series of assessment tasks before completing a minimum of five hours’ worth of one-to-one reading support with a reading partner.

    The scheme has been running successfully at Brooke Weston for several years and is administered by Reading Matters and co-ordinated by Mrs Childs. She presented the students with their Level 2 accreditation in ‘Supporting Reading Skills’.

  • Rajmund’s excellent results reflect his status as most improved student

    Rajmund Baranyi faced huge challenges to gain his excellent GCSE qualifications of a Distinction in Business, a B in food technology, Cs in English and maths and Ds in science, additional science and geography.

    When he started at Brooke Weston, not only did Rajmund have blindness to contend with, but English wasn’t his first language. Since joining us five years ago he has had the support of a Visual Impairment team who have accompanied him to lessons and made sure he has all the resources and equipment he needed to learn and take part in practical tasks.
