We welcome applications from all families and aim to make the admissions process as straightforward as possible.

Making the decision to chose the right school for your child can seem a daunting task. At Brooke Weston, our team are always willing to answer any questions and help make the process as smooth, welcoming and uncomplicated as possible at our Year 7 and Sixth Form entry.

All applications for a place at our school are managed by North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) in line with their coordinated admissions scheme. Below you’ll find key information about how to apply, important dates, and what to expect once school places are allocated.

Admissions Arrangements – What happens after National Offer Day

If you have recently received your child’s school allocation, we would like to guide you through the next steps.

If your child has been allocated a place at Brooke Weston Academy, we look forward to welcoming them. There is no need to confirm acceptance unless requested by the Local Authority, but we encourage you to get in touch if you have any questions about starting with us.

If you have decided not to accept the place, please inform North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) as soon as possible so that the place can be offered to another child.

If your child was not allocated a place Brooke Weston Academy but you would like them to attend, you can request to have their name added to the waiting list. This process is managed by North Northamptonshire Council. Waiting lists are ranked according to the school’s admissions criteria rather than the date of application.

If your child was not offered a place at Brooke Weston Academy and you would like to appeal, you can do so by following the appeals process managed by North Northamptonshire Council. Appeals must be submitted through the council’s online appeal form: Make an appeal for a school place.

If you need a paper form, you can request one using our contact form, and post it to the Local Authority.

Appeals need to be submitted:    ​

  • Secondary school: No later than 5pm on 28th March 2025
  • Sixth form: Where offers of places are conditional upon GCSE examination results, appeals for admission to Sixth Form cannot be heard until after GCSE results are known.
  • Late appeals: No deadline.

​If your child has an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan or a statutory statement of special educational needs (SEN), please see the NCC special educational needs (SEND) page for information on how to apply as there is a different process for these applications.

Applications for 'in year moves' need to be applied for through the local authority. The below link will take you to the to the application forms as well as give you more information about the process. Please be aware that places are allocated according to space in the requested year group.

North Northamptonshire Council (northnorthants.gov.uk) 

The Academy will consider all applications for places. Where the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, the above oversubscription criteria will be applied. The outcome of each application will be communicated to the parent/carer within the specified timescales. If the application is unsuccessful, parents/carers will be informed as to how to submit an appeal.

Waiting List

If your child was not allocated a place Brooke Weston Academy but you would like them to attend, you can request to have their name added to the waiting list. Admission arrangements for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

If your child has an education, health and care (EHC) plan or a statement of special educational needs (SEN) there is a separate process for your child's school admission. Further details on how to apply can be found here.
