Design Technology
What We Do
We integrate creativity and technical skills to design, create, and innovate. In Design Technology at Key Stage 3 we focus on developing practical solutions using materials, tools, and digital technologies using timbers, metals and plastics . In Food and Nutrition, we explore nutrition and healthy eating, food science, and safe, innovative food preparation techniques. In Engineering, we emphasise problem-solving, product development, and understanding mechanical and electronic systems as well as exploring the engineering sectors. We encourage hands-on projects, teamwork, and critical thinking to bring ideas from concept to reality. We care about the world we live in and teach our students to be empowered with the knowledge they need to be empathetic and sustainable designers and makers.
What We Are Proud Of
We are so proud of our students' ability to apply knowledge practically and think critically. They master projects that demonstrate creativity and technical expertise, from prototypes to culinary masterpieces. We are proud of how we develop skills that prepare students for real-world challenges and future careers in a collaborative and supportive learning environment, fostering innovation and confidence.
What Our Ambitions Are
We would like to further integrate emerging technologies like 3D printing, robotics, and sustainable practices across all areas. We would to continue to inspire every learner to be innovative problem solvers and confident creators and to build stronger links with industries, offering students real-world experiences and pathways. We continuously evolve our curriculum to stay relevant and engaging, preparing students for the future.
