🗼 Little Interpreters Visit! 🗼 Last week, we loved welcoming the Little Interpreters from Oakley Vale Primary School for a fantastic morning of language learning and fun! The pupils took part in two French lessons, learning numbers and colours, and enjoying activities such as word searches and bingo 🎯📚. We also gave them a tour of the school to help them feel confident and at home.

Just over a year ago Mr Clarke and Mrs Liquorish-Brown ran a half and full marathon respectively. Now, a little over that anniversary, Mr Clarke is doing it again along with Mr Littlejohn!

The dynamic duo last ran together at the Market Harborough Tunnel Run – a jaunt along the Brampton Valley Way incorporating the two tunnels.

💬 Asked why he was running another half marathon, Mr Clarke replied: “I am not quite sure why – I like the challenge and it sounded a good idea at the time. Running the Shakespeare Half Marathon was one of the most difficult things physically and mentally I have done. However, I wanted to overcome this.

I remember running my first 5k and then my first 10k; incrementally increasing distance and goals is one way to stretch and challenge oneself. If I can do this, anyone can. Setting yourself little achievable goals towards a larger one makes things easier to achieve.

The feeling when you see the finish line with the crowd applauding and willing you on is like nothing I’ve experienced. So despite the unglamourous aches, pains and other ailments running presents, I want to give it another shot on home turf.” 🏁👏

💬 Mr Littlejohn added: “The opportunity arose and Mr Clarke can be quite persuasive! But on a serious note, I did lose my Gran to Alzheimer’s, so it is a great charity and opportunity to raise awareness.

This will be my first timed half marathon and, looking at the hilly route, it will certainly be a challenge. We last ran together during the Tunnel Run, which was fun, so to reunite will be nice.” ⛰️💪

💬 The pair are running for Alzheimer’s Research this year. Mr Clarke said: “My nan died from this disease, so doing it for a charity close to my heart makes me both responsible and accountable for doing my best for those who have generously donated. Knowing you are running to make a little bit of difference really does help during the darker moments of the run.” 💙❤️
